Ubergeek Entertainment has a unique approach to concert production. We run a very small crew with a large number of both live and remote cameras to capture literally dozens of angles of the event. The remote cameras ensure that everything is recorded and give the live operators an opportunity to interact with the performer and live audience in a spontaneous and artistic fashion. There is no pre-determined routine as the concert is completely assembled in post production. In the edit, we are able to meticulously cut the show in a way that is impossible to do live, as well as blur the line between the live event and the dvd presentation. Just as lighting can enhance the live concert, visual effects can further enhance the dvd experience. We also feel that how a dvd or blu ray disc is presented is as important as the music. Many concerts treat their dvd extras as just that, extras. We consider them to be part of the concert presentation. From documentary features, to interviews, to music demonstrations and lessons, to the dvd menus and the cover art — our goal is to give the viewer a complete experience of what happened on the night of the show and allow them to relive that moment over and over again. By not employing a television truck and keeping our crew footprint small, Ubergeek Entertainment is able to present a significant cost savings over the traditional concert video structure while offering what we feel is a much more satisfying product. |
